Each time I initiate access to the internet, I get an Event Viewer Warning
entry, containing the following description:

"QoS RSVP has failed to find any interfaces with traffic control enabled.
Install QoS traffic control services via network and dial-up connections"

Any suggestions as to how to correct the cause of this "Warning" will be
much appreciated.

TIA,
Charles

Thanks Oli.

Using Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs/Add-Remove Windows Components, I
have searched through all installed Windows Components bit have not found
any reference to QoS as being an installed component.

Using the Windows Explorer Search function, the file "qosname.dll" was found
in the C:\WINNT\system32 directory. This is the only reference that I can
find to the existence of qos in my system.

Would you suggest that this file (qosname.dll) be removed?

You alomost certainly don't need any QoS stuff. The article above tells you
how to uninstall it.

Cheers

Oli

Further searching on Google re "QoS RSVP" I found the following specific
instructions for uninstalling QoS.

"You've installed QOS but don't have the hardware for it.
Run Control Panel/Add Remove Programs
Select Add/Remove Windows Components
Select Networking Services
Hit the Details Button
Uncheck QoS Admission Control Service"

On my system, under "Networking Services/Details", "QoS Admission Control
Service" is not listed. The only items listed are:
RIP Listener and Simple TCP/IP Services.

As noted in my re-post above, the only QoS related file I can find in my
system is "qosname.dll" in my C:\WINNT\system32 directory.

Would appreciate any additional help from group win2k experts/contributors
as to whether this file should be removed as a means for eliminating this
repetitive Warning entry in my Event Viewer.
