Hello

Problem: Some clients cannot connect to one of three terminal servers in farm. Same clients connect OK to other two servers in same farm. Other clients connect OK to all three servers. Problem server logs the following when attempting to connect from problem clients

Event Type: Informatio
Event Source: TermServic
Event Category: Non
Event ID: 100
Date: 4/6/200
Time: 1:27:29 P
User: N/
Computer: ELM
Description
The terminal service client '%1' has provided an invalid license.

ICA Client displays this error: Network or dial-up problems are preventing communication with Citrix servers

Servers: Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4 with TS running in Application Mode. Citrix Metframe XP 1.0 SP2/FR2
Domain: All three TS members of same NT4 domain. Problem server is not TSLS
Clients: Sun/Solaris

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

The license on the client is corrupt. Delete the local license,
thereby forcing the client to grab a new one. If you don't have
free licenses, they will get a temporary license, but the old ones
should expire within 52-89 days and be returned to the LS in time
for the clients to pick it up before their temporary license
expires.
I seem to remember that this also can happen if the client has
previously connected to another TS and received a license from
another LS, but I'm not sure on this.

Thanks for the reply. The clients in question are all Solaris clients. License not stored on the clients.

Thanks
Bil

If you use the RDP client does it fail with an error message?

Since these are Solaris machines, Citrix stores the license in the registry
on the terminal server itself, in a Citrix specific registry key. They are
listed by hardware ID so determining the specific licenses that need to be
removed could be difficult, and you would need to contact Citrix about how
specifically to do that.

Here is an article with the error message, and how we would fix it for a
Windows based client/ or RDP client:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=323597

I think in your situation though you will need to find out which licenses
specifically to delete of the TS- and to do that you will need to talk to
Citrix.

Hi Bill

The license key are stored on the MetaFrame server under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\MSLicensing\.
