Etiquette with the newsgroups

Hello ppl
I am beggining with VB.net and would like to use this newsgroup to
supplement my learning.

Firstly whats the correct etiquette here as this is my first involement with
newsgroups.

Is there such a thing as a stupid question? and or is the practise of asking
first before you have done your own research frowned upon?

Thanks for any responses to keep me on the dtaight and narrow.

For all of you who cannot help but lend a hand to us learners, I'll be
speaking to you all in the near future.

There are no stupid questions, however there is suspected own investigation.

Others have to learn from the questions. That cannot be with to obvious
answers.

There is also expected some basic knowledge of Visual Basic Net because
otherwise no newsgroup wise communication is in my opinion possible.

I strongly recommend to do research /before/ asking. People here have
limited time and thus won't be happy if they answer questions the OP could
have answered himself.

line response to a long post that has the entire original post with it.

I also find it irritating when everything is clipped such that the reply has no context. Then I have to un-hide the read posts to
find out what is being answered.

Have you a problem with your ISP? and bandwidth?
The difference between your post and mine is a whopping 1k
Surely your not going to get annoyed downloading my post. I mean spam posts
of a considerable size would be a pain but I think you MIGHT be overdoing it
with that comment.
But who am I to disagree, if this is the general consensus then fine I will
comply with the view that bandwidth is a primary resource and not getting
the full story behind each post is a waste.

My bandwidth is fine, but there are still a large number of people who
still use dialup, or pay by the minute. But, I suppose, it's not a
huge problem.
