ethernet connection stopped working

Came home from 3 week vacation and my wirelss and ethernet modem connection
won't work. Had to connect DSL modem with USB connection. Now I cannot hook
up the router. Have talked with Bellsouth and they said it was problem with
Ethernet connection. Can someone plese advise me what to do. I also chat
with Linksys this am and I have to have ethernet connected from router to
modem for configuration of wireless.

I just had this same problem. My IP Address was booted out of the
router but had to go thru the local phone company to finally get it
fixed.I had to go to "STart",Run, and type in IPCONFIG and one other
step.
