I just installed a 10/100 fast ethernet card on my Win XP
computer (home edition)but I still show speed @10mbps,
when I am connected (I am connecting thru DSL). How do I
make the speed 100mbps?

You don't. 100 is for internal lans(networks). On any broadband service
there is always a cap. This cap is far below what the modem or network card
can handle. DSL is most likely 384k-2mb download speed and cable is usually
1mb-3mb download speed. The modem can probably handle 40mb down easily, but
isp's don't allow that. We all have to share the bandwidth, thus the speed
caps. To test your general internet speed(remember this changes constantly
when your online, due to internet traffic and such) goto - www.pcpitstop.com
and use the internet connection test.
