Mr Guy

i have 2 xp machines in a network, so far i have internet sharing, and
file sharing easy.
i have read a lot of help documents, that either do something i dont
want them to do, or dont help at all.

in the internet settings on the host computer, i had set it to
establish a connection whenever the client computer tried to make a
connection.
however, is there any way to connect to the dial up connection from
the client computer, in a way similar to the way i connect through the
host computer, ie, double cliking on the connection icon in the
network connections folder

one text talked of "internet gateways" in the network connections,
however this does not appear on my computers,

any help with this would be greatly appreciated,

Not that I know of. But it isn't necessary. As soon as the
client computer tries to reach any other computer out on the
Internet, the ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) host will dial.

You should be able from the client to manually make the host
disconnect though, if that option is enabled.
