Esignal for PA Bear

I had a fair amount of discussion about blocked web sites using esignal
software. Got my nose rubbed into it pretty good by the hosts file
administrator who probably thought I was incompetent. Not far from right but
I still need some help.
I am trying to get esignal to replicate the problem and I anticipate they
will say it is the web sites fault. Only a few web sites appear to be
blocked. I don't have a good answer for that. Can you help???

My research indicates eSignal uses eAssist NetAgent CTI, which, among other
things, "features sophisticated routing, configurable *screen* *pops*, web
callbacks, and advanced real-time and historical reporting."

Now, 'screen pops' = pop-ups, so it's no wonder Mike includes an entry in
his HOSTS file to block it. I have no idea which of the entries is causing
your problem, Gordon. [<aside> Have you tried Mike's newst HOSTS file,
dated 13 Jun-04?]

As I posted earlier, your choices seem clear to me: Either use Mike's file
and don't run eSignal in the background or use another HOSTS file (or none
at all) and run eSignal in the background.

They were but he still talks about "free" programs. esignal is not free.

Still have problem with new hosts file as you might expect.

Let it go, Gordon, it's not germane to the discussion anyway. (eSignal does
offer a "free" trial version, as you're well aware.)
