Web site on local host deemed unsafe

Greetings -

I use the Visual Studio C#.NET development environment, which can produce a
'web site' that exists on my local system and is composed of source code
documentation.

Since installing Windows XP SP2, I have been unable to convince IE that this
site is safe. IE puts it into the Restricted Zone and all scripting in the
site pages is then blocked.

Since this 'site' is produced by the Visual Studio, I am pretty sure it is
safe, but I have so far not discovered the mechanism for telling IE it is.

I have tried entering it into the Internet Options | Security Trusted Zone,
but that does not work - or I am doing it incorrectly.

How do I tell IE that a web site hosted on my local system is safe?

Many thanks...
John

Try going to internet options..advanced tab..scroll down to security
and put a check in allow active content to run in files on My
Computer.

It's due to Local Machine LockDown in SP2. Follow the Workaround here:

Allow active content to run in files on My Computer - Windows XP Service
Pack 2:
