errors when trying to set the welcome login screen in user accounts

when i go to user accounts and then change the way users
log on or off it gives me an error msg saying that a
component that was recently installed could be causing
this and then say that it could be gina_x86.dll
the thing is that windows xp was just freshly installed
and nothing has been added
