Errors and other strange happenings

These days, I'm having more problems with my computer than ever before.

OS-XP Home, IE 6, CPU Pentium 4

When I open IE as a link or as an attachment to OE, I sometime get little
box red Xs or the color boxed triangle, square and rectangle. As well I get
the following error message from the status bar:

"Object doesn't support this property or method."

Any help offered will be gratefully appreciated.

There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).
