Errors after updates

After a few updates for WinXP, I restarted and this came
up: The procedure entry point AssocIsDangerous could not
be located in the dynamic link library SHLWAPI.dll -Then
under the box User Interface Failure: The logon User
Interface DLL msgina.dll failed to load. I tried to logon
under all safe mode options to no avail, so I tried to
repair/recover w/cd. Now I can log on but when I try to
use system restore, an error message box under RSTRUI.EXE
says: Entry point RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore in
winsta.dll - I'm not sure how to correct this short of
reinstalling windows completely. What do these messages
mean and how can I fix it?
