I am employed by Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City.
I downloaded Windows XP from our main campus(Stillwater).
I upgraded from ME to Windows XP. I could not get Norton
AntiVirus to load. I contact symantec and they advised me
what to do. As I was working on the problem, I turned
off my computer, not thinking! Now, when I try to reboot
this message comes up: "Windows could not start due to
missing or corrupt \windows.o\system32\config\SYSTEM." My
question is this. If I buy my own personal version of
Windows XP, can I load it on my computer? I have advised
Stillwater and they are working on the problem. I NEED MY
COMPUTER at home as soon as possible.

Thank you

A bought version of Windows XP will contain all the files necessary to run
the system. So if you buy it, all you should have to do is to format the
hard-drive and then install the operating system.
