Hi Lee,

That's your sound card driver. Try updating the driver using
this version I found: http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/drivers/80/80131.htm

If it doesn't work, a google.com search or a visit to your computer
manufacturers website should reveal a more recent version to try.

Another trick is to lower hardware acceleration by clicking Start /
Run / type: dxdiag and then in the app that opens, click the Sound
Tab and lower the acceleration by sliding it to the left a notch or two.

Hi Lee,

It says Windows 95, but the installer states it's for XP.
Install the one I recommended first, and if you still have
problems, then try the one you found. XP has the Roll
back driver feature if there are any problems, or to be
absolutely prepared setup a restore point right now.

Hi Lee,

Download the driver from the website, save it to a folder
and check to see if it includes a readme file with instructions.

To install the driver, go to Control Panel / System / Hardware
Device Manager / Expand the Sound, video and game controllers
section/ select your sound card from the list / double click on it,
click the Driver Tab / Click the Update Driver... button, and then
point it to the new driver(s) which you downloaded. Good luck! :)

Hi Lee,

Lets run a diagnostic of your system to see if we can pinpoint the problem.
In order to Create a dxdiag.txt file: Click Start / Run / type: DXDIAG
Click the "Test" buttons in the Display, Sound, Music & Network Tabs;
Afterwards click the "Save All Information..." button in the bottom row.
Send the Dxdiag file: Click Insert / File Attachment using Outlook Exp.,
or open the file in notepad, click Edit / Select All / Copy and then Paste
the data into your reply using the Ctrl+V command. Hope this helps! :)

you?

Hi Lee,

Lets run a diagnostic of your system to see if we can pinpoint the problem.
In order to Create a dxdiag.txt file: Click Start / Run / type: DXDIAG
Click the "Test" buttons in the Display, Sound, Music & Network Tabs;

Hi lee

I can see by your DX Diagnostics that you have a driver which is
over two years old on your system. (8/12/2001). Update to DX9
first, and then install the 2nd driver on this list which is more recent:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/pctech/pc...id=5&famid=12&series=8&Software=True#8Windows
(It's a .exe file, so you just have to double click it to install the drivers)

Before you update your drivers, I recommend that you install DirectX 9.0b:
http://download.microsoft.com/downl...-4c98-baf3-0c67e7f3751f/dx90update_redist.exe

I also think you should install Windows Media Player 9:
http://windowsmedia.com/9series/download/download.asp
