Error while unpacking program, code LP5 - Any ideas?

Hi,

I'm a beginner with XPe and have encountered an error that I can't
solve.

I have an app written in VC++.net, which runs fine on XPPro but when
run on XPe, gives the error message "Error while unpacking program,
code LP5. Please report to author."

I've searched the net for possible solutions but with little success.
I'm assuming the problem lies with my XPe configuration - possibly that
some sort of standard decompression component is missing. However, with
my very limited knowledge of XPe, I don't know what could be missing as
all the dependencies have been resolved.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Hello mark,

Do you have .NET at all in you XPe image??

Hi Nikolai,

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have .NET in my image. There has been a
further development. I have also created a new HDD partition and done a
clean install of XP + SP2. I get exactly the same error message so it
is not specific to XPe.

The app runs fine on my corporate desktop PC - networking not used. It
looks like there is something missing in both my XP and XPe setups that
is present on my desktop.

For anybody out there with the same or similar problem:

The problem appears to be with XP SP2. The app works fine on plain XP
and XP with SP1. I've gone back to SP1.
