If I download a program and try to save it on a disk, I'm receiving an error
that says, " The directory D"\ doesn't exist. Do you want to create it." If
I click yes, the download begins and finishes but the disk is still empty.
This happens about 80% of the time that I try to download on a disk. I
checked the cables inside my pc and they are secure and I don't know what
else to do. Please help.

Are you sure you meant D: instead of D\ ?

If you want to save files to a CD like you would a floppy or hard disk, you
need to have three things to get that CD ready:

1)Your CD must be rewrittable.
2)You need to install a "packet writter" utility (ie, DLA or In-CD) for your
burnner.
3)You need to format the CD in UDF format using the utility.

Check with your burnner's installation disks to see if you have the utility,
or contact the manufacturer to see if the burnner can support such a utility.
Then read the readme and help files and the software manuals to properly
format the CDRW.

You cannot download a file directly to a CD.
You need to download the file to your hard
drive, then record the downloaded file to the CD.

Do you get the standard SAVE AS box?

Click the arrow to the right of the SAVE IN field, and click through the
choices under the C: drive tree.
Choose the directory (folder) in which the file is to be saved, then click
the SAVE button.

I have saved programs on a disk numerous times without any problems. This
probalem only began yesterday. I use Star Downloader, select save on D Drive
and programs always save on the disk.
