Error when opening anything on the desktop/launch bar

Any time I open a folder on the desktop, or use IE, any
of the launch bar icons...or pretty much any application,
I get the error (" is not a valid date). There error
being everything in the (), including the ". Not sure
what to do, and I don't want to reinstall XP; I don't
want to run the risk of losing other things on my
computer. Any ideas?

Hi,
Your system might be affected with a Virus. The virus
could be Sircam or Swen or anyother virus.
You can goto http://housecall.antivirus.com and perform
an online virus scan of your computer. Its a free scan
site.
