This should be posted to the XP newsgroup,
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general.

More information would be useful, such as what you're doing when this
occurs, which programs are in use, etc.

It suspect it probably means your Taskbar and Start menu disappeared? <w>

Were there any other symptoms? What were you doing at the time?

BTW this is off-topic for this newsgroup. You may get a more informed
response in an XP newsgroup instead. E.g. since you are posting
using Outlook Express through msnews press Ctrl-w and type c.w sx
to see all the ones for English readers. ; )
