Error saving as DV-AVI (NTSC)

I've created a slideshow in WMM (v. 2.1.4026.0) and am attempting to save it
to my computer as an AVI (under Other Settings: DV-AVI (NTSC)).

The estimated space required for the movie is 1.41 GB. I have 112 GB
availabe (so plenty of space).

I get an error which states:
"Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location.
Verify the original source files used in your movie are still available, that
the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk
space available, and then try again."

My attempts at solving the problem:
1) The specified location is my second HD which I use for movies/etc and has
plenty of space. I've tried saving it in the root directory, in
subdirectories, etc, without success.
2) ALL original source files are still available, I've checked. I am able
to save it as any different wmv format but not the DV-AVI format I need.
3) and I've tried shutting down all background programs to free up all
memory. I have a total of 1 GB of RAM with Win XP SP2 with a Intel 2.4 GHz.
4) I don't have a video camera, I just want to save to my HD and then use
the avi to make a DVD.

Please advise. Any help would be appreciated.

Ensure you are not using a MPEG file. Convert those to WMV using WIndows
Media Encoder. Also convert any MP3s to WAV or WMA using WME.

If this doesnt fix the issue try the following:

Execute the following line on Start->Run dialog

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\qdv.dll

it should result in "registerserver succeeded in qdv.dll" message.

Restart WMM and try again.
