Can't Save in any other format besides DV-AVI

I am trying to put a movie together and save to my computer. The Save Movie
Wizard option is ONLY lettting me save as the DV-AVI format. If I try to save
as any other format, i get a message that says "Windows Movie Maker cannot
save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source
files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is
still available, and that there is enough free disk space available, and then
try again."
But since the DV-AVI format is the biggest file size saving option, I don't
understand why the other options don't work. Can you help me please?

the computer memory needed to save as DV-AVI is higher than to save as a
Pocket PC choice, but less than a high quality WMV. Try the pocket PC choice
to see if the WMV format option works...
