Error prone!

My machine is freezing every 5 minutes right now. Control
alt delete does nothing, I have to continually hard start.
I am getting a message now
that "WINDOWS\Prefetch\MSIMN.EXE-38BA891D.pf" file is
corrupt and unreadable.

Any ideas short of tossing the CPU in the lake??
 
What happens if you delete c:\windows\Prefetch\MSIMN.EXE-38BA891D.pf?
