error printing on home networked printer

I have a win2000 machine on a home network with an xp machine with a
printer attached. I was getting an error unable to print from the 2000
machine so I deleted and re-added the printer. I can open the printer
but when I try to print anything, including a test page, I get an
error - unable to print. Any ideas or pointers appreciated.

Check first that the XP box is able to print.
If the printer was 'Paused' in XP it would affect network
clients.

No other details eh? Just 'Unable to print' ?

I'm able to print from my xpmachine to the printer attached via
parallel port.

When I print a test page from the 2000 box I get a box 'Unable to
print". It asks if I want to use the troubleshooter. I tried that &
found no good info.
