error opening save documents/files in all aplications

I can create and save a document or file with out of problem. When I try to open it again word tells me "the file [insert file name] is unavailable." This also happens in my other Office 2003 programs such as excel and powerpoint. Is there any way to fix this? Please help!

If you are running Norton Antivirus, disable the Office Plugin that
comes with it by right-clicking on the Norton icon in the system tray,
then left-clicking on Configure Norton Antivirus | Miscellaneous |
uncheck the "Enable Office Plugin" box.
