error on installing

was installing windows xp pro on a new hard drive in my friends dell optiplex
gx 150 Bios version is 1.10 A06 IBM hard drive model DPTA-372730 After
booting to his xp pro cd I formated the hard drive it saved files started in
windows then gave message file "asms" missing needed on windows xp service
pack 1 it wont finish installing have to either go press f1 to continue or f2
to enter setup when you press the f1 it goes right back to continueing setup
and it keeps doing that. Is there a fix? can I load it on a floppy or cd on
my comp and take there to put it on?Help
