Error on boot up

I keep getting an error code on boot up right before
the desktop is displayed saying "Can't run 16 bit Windows
program insufficient memory to run this application. Quit
one or more windows applications & then try again." There
are no applications open at that point. This message just
started a couple weeks ago. Can you help?

probably a 16-bit application loading up from your startup folder. run
msconfig (start, run, 'msconfig') and have a snoop in the 'Startup' tab.
