error messages

i have been trying to open my outlook express and the box appears and says
outlook express has encountered a problem and must close. There is a close
button at the bottom. I can get details i do not understand. I also went to
windows update and did the problem help and at the end i got another box that
said it had a problem and had to close. So it is not just with my mail. Any
ideas.
