Error messages!

Started my dell 2300, loaded with win xp home. Have had
it for 2 years. Launched internet explorer and got the
following message: Stop:C000021a(fatal system error)
stopped at OXC0000005, OX77F56C82, OX00F0FAFC. Manually
shut the system down. rebooted in safe mode, tried system
restore was unsuccessful. Rebooted normally, ran updated
virus scan, and now it seems to be working. Any clues?
