error message

Before I explain my problem i'm running Windows ME with
all latest updates/patches

Hi, for the past three days or so any attempt at opening
Internet Explorer gives me one of two error messages, the
first is "Explorer has caused an error in ULRMON.DLL.
Explorer will now close" etc.. the second is the same
except URLMON.DLL is replaced with <unkown>. I think these
problems arose when I encounted some spyware/adware on my
system which I got rid of, apparantly what they did was
alter windows media player in some way so it would run the
spyware/adware .exe's. I ended up reinstalling WMP9 and
the problem is fixed. However internet explorer is giving
me thse two errors, I am using an alternate browser MyIE2
which seems to get around the problem with Internet
Explorer. I have scanned my system with Ad-Aware and Trend
Micro PC-Cillin w/ the latest pattern file, i have removed
all entries they have found as spyware/adware, but still
not able to run Internet Explorer. After that I decided to
reinstall Internet Explorer 6 SP1. I dl the proper file, i
select to reinstall all files, then it gives me an error
stating it cannot find some files (forget exact error it
gave me) then the computer reboots, upon re-entering
windows the setup window opens again, i select to resume
setup it then quickly that the setup was finished. Then
upon retrying IE the same error pops up. Which now brings
me here :). Sorry for the very long post but i hope it was
descriptive enough.

Thanks, Bryan
