Are you using the account to send mail only? Some ISP's require you receive
before you send.

Are you properly authenticating to the ISP servers? Did this ever work? If
it did, when did it stop?

no i am using my account to send and receive mail- both.

i have been using outlook since very long and initially wasn't facing this
problem at all...was sending and receiving mails without any error but this
problem has started from the last 1 month.

don't really understand your msg rgdng authenticating to the IPS server. how
do i authenticate myself?

Check the properties of your account(s). Make sure both incoming (POP3) and
outgoing (SMTP) servers are correctly set up and use a password to
authenticate to your ISP server, to prove it's you.

Have you applied any updates lately to office or your O/S? Have you made
changes to your firewall or installed new antivirus? Does your antivirus
integrate with Outlook, actively scanning incoming and outgoing email? This
may be the culprit.

If you open Outlook in safe mode, does the behaviour continue? Start > Run >
outlook.exe /safe
