Error message

I keep getting the following error message:
"You do not have access to make the required system configuration
modifications.
Please rerun this installation from an administrators account."
I get this message trying to install Shockwave Player. I suspect it has
something to do with the latest updates from Microsoft regarding ActiveX, but
I'm not sure. I am using Windows XP SP2 with latest updates. I also have a
wireless network set up with one other computer. I also use Norton System
Works/Personal Firewall. Windows Firewall is turned off. I am the only
logged-on user/administrator and Guest account is turned off. I have gone
into Safe Mode and made sure that I have "Full control" on the Security tab.
I have not had this problem installing any other programs including the
latest version of Flash Player from Adobe. I have tried numerous suggestions
that I have found from different forums including the Macromedia folks, but
nothing has helped. I've been trying to install Shockwave for about two weeks
now. After getting the error message, Shockwave player shows up in the
Add/Remove section of listed programs with nothing listed under "Size". It
also shows up in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Shockwave 10, but apparently is
not available to me. Anyone have any suggestions ? Thanks...
