Error message

I have a compactflash card reader attached by USB This is for sewing machine
designs. When I try to write I cannot get it to recongnize the reader. The
last time I tried I got error message "failure to inialize port". Since I am
not a techie, just a grandmother, can someone help with this problem is basic
terms. thanks

Without such information as the type of reader; software with which you are
creating the pattern and eactly how you are attampting to 'write' to the
flash card, then there is small chance of someone hitting the bullseye.

One needs to know what one is shooting at and where it is located in order
to have half a chance of firing in the right direction.

Without the details one is playing a game of 'Pin the Tail on the Donkey'.
