Windows Vista Embroidery machine card reader

I have recently purchased a new Canon IP4200 Printer. I also use the Husqvarna embroidery Card reader Writer to download designs to my Husqvarna embroidery card. I have a Husqvarna 1250 sewing machine and Windows XP. The reader Reader writer has the old 25 pin adaptor and the printer only a USB port. Could I purchase a cable to be able to connect the Reader Writer or must I buy an new Husqvarna Reader Writer? Also I have some old type stiffys with Husqvarna designs, but the laptop can not take stiffys? Can I purchase a 'outside writer' to download these to either a CD or Memory stick? I desperately need to use the embroidery machine.

Hi Elmarie

No need to be buying new readers..You can get 25pi to USB adapters..I'll have a look round and add some links to sites for you in a minute..
As for the " Stiffys" you can also purchase external Floppy drives, again I will find some sites and post the links for you..

Lost power pack question

As a follow-up, I have a lost power pack question for the same type of Reader/Writer... Does anyone that has one, know the output voltage & amperage of the power pack? Then another of same style could be used. Usually it is printed on the brick that plugs into the wall outlet.
