I'm getting this error msg: cannot find C:\windows\system32\mdmdl.exe. I've been into regedit but the closest I can find is mdtl.exe, so I can't remove it. Anybody help?

Hi,

No such file that I can find. Start/run regedit, check under these keys for
a string that references it:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg

Delete the one that does, as it is likely a trojan (type of virus).

Thanks Nutcase, despite my missing out an 'l' you seem to have cracked it. It was in the first string you gave me by the way.
