Error Message When trying to view certain web sites

When i try to view sites such as ebay I get the
following message/error box: Internet Explorer cannot
display the
internet site (http://blahblah.com) Operation aborted.
I have searched the knowledge base to no avail. Any
clues. I'm running win XP

Once I click Ok to the message box I get the Page cannot
be displayed screen

If you had a recent virus or malware infection, your hosts file may be
corrupted. Rename it to "oldhosts" or something, if it is. See the
entry "ISearch - how to remove it" for details.

The message "Operation aborted" is probably caused by a parasite.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
