Error Message When start up

When i start up my laptop it says it can not find a
certiam file, it is label system.exe how can i fix this?
do i have to re do the whole hard drive

If it was exactly "system.exe" then that is not a windows file, so it
probably means you have a virus. IF you can boot windows then I would
recommend updating your virus scanner and do a full virus scan from safemode
by pressing F8 on boot then choose safemode.

It would really really help if you posted the EXACT error message. This is
a guess but is it possible the error is "missing or corrupt
windowsroot\system32\config\system.." If so follow the following article on
the microsoft. site.
