I have just reformated and reinstalled Microsoft Windows XP (with technical assistance) and Microsoft Windows Office XP Standard for Students and Teachers (just put in disk and used set up wizard with no customization). Now, when I open Word or Excel I get the following message: "Error 1402. Setup cannop the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Proofing tools\\Custom Dictionary." If I click ENTER is allows me to continue through error screens to an administrator log in and finally to my blank (or other) documents. Is there some way I can fix this., it doesn't block my usage of the programs, but it is an annoying and time-consuming way to get to my work.

Thanks to anyone who can help

Edi

P.S. I'm not particularly computer literate so I will need some advice in simplie lanuage (if possible).

Look for the name you use to log in under and make sure it just says administrator blow your sign in name in user accounts

Once that is done, put the office cd back in.
When it trys to run it will come up to a repair or remove choice. Just select repair and click next turn the remaining screens until it finishes. That should do i
