Error message trying to use shared printer

From a WinXP professional machine get the error
message "The data area passed to a system call is too
small".

Printer: HP 2300, out of the box, connected to Win98
machine, shared. Have a second printer with same specs
and same error.

Have several HP2200D printers shared under same
circumstances but have no problem connecting and printing
to them. Unable to find reference on web or MS Support
to this error message. Help or suggestions appreciated.

Are you certain that you installed Windows XP versions of the printer
drivers on the XP computers?
