error message on startup for win2k

hello i get a error message on startup the message is as
followed. ntvdm cpu has received an illegal instruction.
please help

may help.
However are you able to start in safemode?
It may be that an app is attempting to load/start.
Was this a clean install of Win2K or an upgrade?

Then it would seem to be iether a problem with a driver loading or software
that is configured to run on start up.
Download Msconfig http://www.perfectdrivers.com/howto/msconfig.html
Use the StartUp section to stop apps starting, see if error repeated. If its
OK its a process of ellimination to determine offending App.
If you are the same poster that upgraded frm Win98, also check yr hardware
drivers are for Win2K
