I am trying to clean up old email from my inbox. When I have tried to delete
an email, it returns the error message: "Messaging Interface has returned an
unknown error...". I repaired the inbox by using scanpst.exe. However, I am
still not able to delete these emails. Any recommendations?

What version of Outlook are you using?
Can you delete any messages?
What happens if you hold down the shift key when you try to delete (to
permanently delete by bypassing the Deleted Items folders)?

I am using Outlook 2003 w/ Business Contact Manager.

I can't delete messages past a specific date; e.g. Aug 4 2005 and older.

I tried to use the shift key and unfortunately, no luck. I also tried to
scan the folder and repair Outlook. I am stumped.
