Error message in IE

Every time I try to close a window, I get two messages.
The second one says "An error has occurred in Internet
Explorer. IE will now close. If you continue to
experience problems, restart your computer." Restarting
the computer does not eliminate the problem.

I know there is a very simple solution, I just don't
know what it is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
