I've recently installed some programs all of which have been running fine,
however when i reboot i have a error message saying - this program has been
damaged, possibly by a bad sector of the hard drive or a virus - please
re-install it.

It does not say what program to reinstall and i have installed the new
programs again.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Go to: Start>Run>type MSCONFIG and click OK, now click the Startup tab.
Look at all the items that are checked/enabled. One of them is the culprit.
You can uncheck/disable them all except your anti-virus app. This action
will not delete anything, it will disable the apps from starting at boot time
robbing you of your system resources. All icons and apps will work.
Click Apply>Close and reboot. Close window stating you've changed
your startup. Try it, you can always go back and recheck them.
After you've finished, also run a malware/spyware app to clean your PC.
