can't reove software

cant remove quicken 2005. goto add/remove programs click on change/remove
progress bar starts then disappears. Try to run program says the files are
damaged reinstall. Try to reinstall get message saying program is allready
there reove before installation. Help please

I got farther in the instalation but still get the message to uninstall the
current quicken program but now it doesn't show in any of the lists
