problems installing and unistalling the sims 2

hi i have the sims2 it used to work fine than it suddenly started to freeze
when it was loading. it would still play the music and still show the loading
up screen in motion but it would neve actually load the game. so i un
instaled it and tried to re install it. now it stops in stalling after disc
3. i bought a new sims 2 and it also stiops loading after disc 3. it says i
am missing some french file or something. and though it wont let me install
it fully it shows in my add/reove programs list an wont let me uninstall.
please help!!

Have you done a windows update recently? What version of windows are you
running? I am having the same issue, so wondering if you have same software?

software? Can you run an EAInfo report? I believe this is a problem with the
two softwares "seeing" each other.

Hi jonnie gurl*,

Here's how to uninstall a game when using Add-Remove programs fails:

Step A: Start your computer in Safe Mode by holding down the F8 key.

Step B: Reinstall the game to the same folder it was installed to originally,
and then try to uninstall it again using Add-Remove programs. If
that fails, delete it's folder and any save games in My Documents.

Step C: Install and Run Regcleaner and if it finds any stray registry keys for the
