Error Message - Cannot find COMMCTRL.DLL

Guest

I recently purchased a new computer with XP. I reloaded some older games (Battleground Series by Talonsoft). When I try to play these games I get the following error mesages: "Cannot find COMMCTRL.DLL", "Cannot find DCIMAN.DLL" and "Error executing main program". I have not earthly idea what the heck they mean. I tried the compatabilty mode, no luck. I have uninstalled and reloaded. I don't have a clue what else to do. I am NOT computer literate at all. Any help that anyone can give would be greatly appreciated
Thank

Hi Lynn,

The first thing to check for is a patch for Battleground. I
looked under downloads, but all they have is wallpaper,
music and sound effects you can add to Windows themes:
http://www.talonsoft.com/battleground/downloads.html

I found their technical support section though which has
patched you can download and install for the BG series:
http://www.talonsoft.com/patches/index.html

If those downloads don't correct the issues, these will:
http://www.hist-sdc.com/patches.html Good luck! :)
