error message @ boot

I recently lost my "1" memory slot. I now only read
from "0" memory slot. When I boot I get a
message:msdtc.exe-application error which reads the
instruction @ 0x77fcc97c referenced memory @ 0x00002741.
The memory could not be "read." Click OK to terminate the
program. Remove this message?? Is this a virus??
 
It doesnt sound like a virus, sounds like possibly file corruption though.
Did you lose the memory slot while the machine was running? Maybe something
in cache was munged. Boot into recovery console and run chkdsk on the
machine as a first step.
