The following error message appears on a laptop but not on a PC when the
application is run.

"Object invalid or no longer set".

The application works perfectly on a PC but always generates the above
message when it run on a laptop which used the same version of ACCESS (2000).
I have checked that all the relevant object library files are present on the
laptop and are the same versions, and as far as I can see, the environments
are identical.

I am mystified as to why the problem occurs, does anyone have any ideas?

I have used DAO extensively throughtout the application.

Thanks,

Bernard

Hi Bernard,

What service pack level do you have installed for Office on each computer? You can obtain this
information by opening any Office application and looking at the Help > About Microsoft {product
name} menu. What service pack level do you have installed for the JET database engine on each
computer? You can follow the instructions in this KB article to check that out:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=239114

You should have SP-8 installed for JET. Are you using CurrentDB without setting an object
variable to it first?

Are you linking to data in an Oracle table?
