Error Message after SP2 installation - missing or corrupt file

Guest

Ater installing SP2 for XP Home Edition I get the message:
Windows cannot start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

then a suggestion to use the Windows Setup CDROM and slect 'r' for repair.

This does not work.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Suggest you make a new Windows XP CD with SP2 slipstreamed
and then perform a "Repair Install".

Either one of the following utilities makes slipstreaming
(integrating) SP2 into Windows XP a breeze:

or

AutoStreamer 1.0.33 (preferred)
