Error Message"actskn.ocx comes up when booting

Hello,

For the past three or four days I have the following window appear at
bootup.

Component "actskn.ocx" or one of it'd dependencies not correctly Registered.
A file is missing or invalid.
I get rid of the window by pressing the X but at every bootup it appears
again.

Win XP Home SE
Mem 1Gig
HD 200 Gig.

Hi Craig,
From one of the websites I found that actskn.ocx is a trogan and may be your
antivirus must have detected it and deleted it. (NOT SURE abt this).

If above is the case follow these steps and it may solve your problem:

To unregister the .ocs file use this command (Go to Start > Run > cmd)
RegSvr32 /u NAME OF YOUR OCX FILE WITH FULL PATH

Say for instance the ocx file resides in c:\windows\system32 then the
command would be

RegSvr32 /u C:\windows\system32\actskn.ocx
It should give a message that OCX file unregistered successfully.

Restart your computer and see if it shows the error.
Also if this doesnt solve the problem, go to start > run > msconfig
See if actskn.ocx is checked. If it is uncheck it and restart the computer.
