Everytime I boot up my system this error shows - 1720 imminent failure
Im still able to boot my system
I have xp home
brand new 80gb western digital
Can this be the problem maybe?

The SMART part of your hard drive (Self Monitoring Analysis and Reporting
Technology) is reporting that the drive is about to fail, new or otherwise.

BACKUP ALL the data you NEED as soon as you can.

Download the utilities software from Western Digital's website...... contact
them for a replacement.

Much more than maybe. Get a replacement ASAP and back up that drive before
it fails.

Western digital is telling me that this is a windows issue and not the disk
is this so?

If the error occurs while the system POST is happening, before any of the
"starting Windows" screens, it is *not* a Windows issue. At this point in
the boot cycle, the BIOS has only started to look at the hardware and has
not tried to load any OS as yet.

The error is BEFORE Windows starts loading. The only Windows issue is
that is running on a computer that has a failing drive.

Thanks for your help guys.
