Error 1720 during installation

I am trying to install a new software package. The installer
fails with a 1720 error. I have successfully installed a few
other products lately, so I suspect this is a bug in the
installer with this particular product, so I have written to
hahaSupport...

Yet, googling for this error shows that it may be a
Microsoft problem after all with a broken InstallShield
installation. My XP Home Pro system has all the normal
updates installed.

Any idea where to look?

Thanks!

I suspect you maybe missing a file from the installer.

You can run SETUP.EXE with logging which may isolate the missing file.

The basic format is:
"C:\YourSetupFolder\setup.exe" /V"/l*v c:\Install.log"

What new software package?
It's the USB driver software for the Zoom R16 recorder. I
worked around it by unpacking the .cab that the installer is
trying to work with and pointing the automatic installation
that Windows offers at the folder with the unpacked .cab
files.
