Error Loading Operating System

I have just upgraded my mother board and when booting up got a blue screen
flash up and then a re-start, the screen was too fast too read. I then tried
to reinstall windows but now either get stuck with the setup program saying
"setup has performed maintanence on your disk and must restart", it does this
time and again. Or when it does work and restarts I get the Error Loading
Operating System message and it does nothing.

Fixed, in the BIOS under CMOS settings the hard drive was being auto
detected, changed the access to LBA and after a format it worked fine.
